Greece and the Greek Islands

About Photo:

Plan your ultimate Greek holiday!!!

Athens

Athens and the mainland destinations of Greece are just as beautiful as the Greek islands. Some destinations on the mainland offer a more unique and less crowded experience than others. Our recommendations will help you find the perfect spot.

Athens is the busiest transportation hub in Greece, so most likely you will experience it as a short stop on your way to a Greek island, or as your final destination in itself. If you are interested in ancient history and culture, it can be a unique experience.

Destinations in Athens

Nafplio is not a hidden secret. The area is filled with important archaeological sites and museums and the town is beautiful. You wouldn't regret choosing it for your vacation. The southwest end of the Peloponnese is called Pylos. The reason it never gets crowded is because it is a bit farther from Athens.

Parga is a very popular place in northwest Greece. It is an excellent choice if you want to combine sea, sun, and history.

One of the best places to visit on the mainland is Meteora. A place of pilgrimage for Orthodox Christians the world over, Meteora is also a major spiritual center. The rock formations are crowned with monasteries.

The Greek Islands

Santorini is a favorite destination because of the combination of breathtaking topography and culture. The island's popularity is the only flaw. It is better to visit in May or early June. It's important to stay at a hotel in Ia or Fira atop the volcanic caldera. The views are amazing.

Santorini is one of the best places to visit only one island in Greece. If you're looking for a popular vacation spot, Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Kefalonia are excellent choices.

Travel Post Pandemic

I was able to spend time at the Regions Traditional golf tournament in Alabama with my friends from Regions Bank. The event went off without a hitch and was a great way to re-enter travel in a safe environment. It was one of the first business trips I have taken since the Pandemic began.

Many banks are considering what a post-pandemic return to work would look like with more people getting vaccine around the world. Being in a position to think about reopening is a privilege. There is optimism but also anxiety.

COVID has had an outsized impact on the lifestyle of a consultant. Pre-COVID, my travel was becoming unsustainable.

I enjoy spending time with my family. It has been my silver lining. I've had time to think about whether this new way of working was better than the old one, or if it was necessary to return back to the road. Getting on the plane again last Monday made me dread going back to the office and the constant travel.

I was converted once I got to Birmingham. Face-to-face interaction is important. It makes us more compassionate in our dealings with each other. There are moments that are magic. They drive our business and our ability to operate effectively.

I believe we will be able to manage our travel more effectively to allow for a more balanced life, because travel and in-person interaction will always be a part of my job.

We will be entering a new blog, every few days, and keeping you up to date on our latest deals.  We look forward to serving you in your travel destination decisions in the future.  Until then?  Welcome and......

Happy Travels!
